Freedom TV News Bureau: The BDA officials, who had allocated the same site to multiple buyers, have been caught in a controversy. Major Manivannan, the rare IAS officer known for his zero-tolerance towards corruption, has taken action against these corrupt officials. It was found that the BDA secretaries had allocated the same site to two or three buyers, leading to chaos when the buyers discovered that the site had already been allocated to someone else. The affected buyers approached the DS offices, only to be asked for bribes.
*Action Taken by Commissioner*
Commissioner M. Manivannan, upon learning of this, reprimanded the DS-4 office officials, instructing them to rectify their mistakes and stop working until the issues were resolved. He ordered a geo-mapping of the entire Kempegowda Layout to determine who had been allocated which site and directed the office staff not to perform any other work until the report was submitted.
*Office Shut Down*
As a result, the DS-4 office has been shut down for two days, with a board reading “Public meeting not allowed” and the staff not attending to any work. The office has been locked, and no one is allowed to meet with the public. A board has been put up in front of the Deputy Secretary’s office, reading “Come tomorrow or the day after tomorrow” without specifying a date.
*Fear Among Corrupt Officials*
Sources within BDA told Freedom TV that Commissioner Manivannan’s corruption-free administration has sent shockwaves among the corrupt officials. It is alleged that many officials posted at BDA are involved in real estate trading through benami individuals. The recent appointment of GM Ravindra to DS-4 has also been met with widespread discontent within BDA.
*Impact of Manivannan’s Administration*
The strict action taken by Commissioner Manivannan has created a sense of fear among the corrupt officials, who are now forced to operate under scrutiny. The shutdown of the DS-4 office is seen as a significant step towards cleaning up the corruption in BDA.
